Once a part of the Kingdom of Abkhazia, Tuapse is a town situated to the north of Sochi and south of Gelendzhik on the Black Sea shoreline. It takes the form of a seaport town and part of the long stretch of Black Sea coast designated as the resort zone.
Like its fellow resort zone towns and cities, tourists flock to Tuapse to enjoy its beaches and have a dip in the Black Sea. Its seaport dominates Tuapse's northernmost coastline, but further south, by River Tuapse, City Beach has been established as a prime location for those looking to the water.
Tuapse’s lack of water parks, amusement parks, zoos, and aquariums allows it to remain as quite a historical destination, while still providing an array of restaurants and sightseeing opportunities as well as the beach to appease tourists.
